The 2019 AAEA Annual Meeting (Agricutural & Aplied Economics Association) took place in Atlant, from July 21st to 23rd 2019. Alexandre Gori presented two papers highlighting the impacts of a climate resilience program in the Brazilian semiarid region (Sertão).
The first study, written in partnership with Daniel Moralez, Jennifer Burney and Daniele Cesano, applied quasi-experimental strategies to evaluate the impacts of the program on several indicators of agricultural production and quality of life. The results highlight how small changes can bring huge benefits.
The second study, written in partnership with Camila Fonseca, Rodrigo Lanna, Jennifer Burney and Daniele Cesano, evaluted the dynamic of tehcnical efficiency among farmers attended by the program. The study identiied the main determinants of improvements in technical efficiency.
